The Library Technology Conference, LibTech, was first held in 2008. Macalester College librarian Ron Joslin had the idea to create a professional development opportunity that would provide an affordable, accessible venue for discussion and practical learning of the technologies impacting library services. Ron’s dream of creating this LibTech Conference sparked an outcome that none of us could have predicted. Over the years, the continually sold-out conference, often within a few days, has welcomed over 5000 participants from all kinds of libraries, hosted compelling keynote speakers, spurred countless innovative ideas and projects, and inspired colleagues from across the United States and around the world.
