The waiting list is now closed as well.   People on the list will be updated on a regular basis regarding their status.

I registered online – what is the deadline for submitting the registration fee payment?

We encourage credit card payment via our secure payment site. You may also pay by check (made out to Macalester College) or using funds available via MINITEX if your institution has an active account. Payments made by check should be mailed within 10 days of registration, and must be received no later than January 20th, 2020.  MINITEX will confirm that you have sufficient funds on account and will remit payment to the conference on your behalf by the payment deadline. If payment has not been received by January 20th, your registration will be canceled.

What is the mailing address for sending conference registration payment?

Those conference participants who choose to pay registration fees by check can mail the full two-day conference or single day registration fees to the following address:

Check payments must be received by January 15th or registration will be canceled.

Is it possible to get a refund of conference registration fee if I am unable to attend?

Refund requests received in writing (email to betsworth@macalester.edu is acceptable) on or before January 17th, 2020 will receive a full refund. Refund requests received between January 18th and February 14, 2020 will receive a refund of registration fees minus a $35 processing fee. No refund is available after February 14th, 2020.  Please note that payment should be made within 10 days of registration. Payment must be received by January 17th, 2020 at midnight, or alternate arrangements made, or registration will be canceled. See also our Inclement Weather Policy.

If I am unable to attend, can I transfer my registration to a co-worker?

If you have registered and then find yourself unable to attend, you can arrange to have a co-worker attend in your place if these arrangements are made no later than March 16th, 2020 at midnight. To arrange for this accommodation, please email libtechconference@macalester.edu. We are not able to split full registrations between two attendees.

What meals are included with the registration fee?

Each day of the conference, attendees will be offered breakfast during the morning registration/check in time, and lunch around the noon hour.  The conference concludes with an all-conference reception with beverages and appetizers.

I am vegetarian/vegan/gluten free or have special dietary needs – will you be able to accommodate this?

There will be vegetarian and gluten-free options available during all meals. If you have any other special dietary needs, please let us know. Please include your information in the space provided on the ‘meal option selection’ page of the registration process. We will do our best to accommodate all dietary needs. When you are at the conference, if you are not easily able to identify the options that work for your needs, please let the servers know. They will be happy to help.



Are continuing education credits available through this conference?

No arrangements have been made by conference planners to provide any sort of continuing education units/credits for attendance at this conference.

Can I receive a ‘Certificate of Attendance’ for this conference?

We can provide a conference certificate of conference attendance to any conference attendee who requests one. Please notify betsworth@macalester.edu or libtechconference@macalester.edu if you would like to receive such a certificate. It will be emailed to you approximately a week after the conference closes.



How do I get to Macalester?

Macalester College is located at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Snelling Avenue in St. Paul. The street address for the College is 1600 Grand Avenue in St. Paul.  Find your way around the Macalester campus or follow the directions below.

From Interstate 94…

Exit on Snelling Avenue and go south on Snelling Avenue to Grand Avenue. Turn right (west) on Grand Avenue and go one block. Turn left (south) on Macalester Street and follow signs to visitor parking.

From the north on Interstate 35…

Take 35E into St. Paul. Exit to Interstate 94 westbound, and follow the directions above.

From the south on Interstate 35…

Take I-35E into St. Paul. Exit at Ayd Mill Road (exit #104B). At second light, take a left onto Grand Avenue (westbound). One block after crossing Snelling Avenue, turn left (south) onto Macalester Street. Follow signs to visitor parking.

From the airport…

Follow the signs for St. Paul/Highway 5. After you cross the river, exit right onto Edgcumbe Road (keep left as you exit) and follow for 1 mile; stay to the left and take Fairview Avenue. Follow Fairview Avenue for 2 miles. Turn right (east) on Grand Avenue and go three blocks to Macalester Street. Turn right (south) and follow signs to visitor parking.

Once I get to Macalester, where should I park?

Parking at Macalester College is free and requires no campus parking permit. Library Technology Conference participants are encouraged to park using the large parking areas located just to the west and south of the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center.  While limited street parking is available, this is NOT recommended for conference participants. Many areas near campus have limits of two hours on street parking and these limits are monitored closely by the St. Paul Police Department. Violators may be ticketed.
