The Library Technology Conference will be awarding up to 10 scholarships to attend the 2020 conference. The goal of these scholarships is to promote library technology proficiency and awareness through attendance at the conference. These scholarships are available to first-time attendees who are either library employees or library school students.
Each scholarship will cover conference registration (either single day or full 2-day registration fees), as well as one night lodging at one of the conference hotels for those traveling to the conference from outside the 7-county Twin Cities metro area.
As of 2019, the scholarships have been formally named after the creator of the Library Technology Conference, Ron Joslin. Ron had the idea to create a professional development opportunity that would provide an affordable, accessible venue to discuss technologies impacting library services and engage in practical learning experiences. Ron’s dream of creating this “LibTech Conference” sparked an outcome that none of us could have predicted. Over the years the continually sold-out conference (usually within a few days) has welcomed over 5000 participants, hosted 24 inspirational keynote speakers, and generated thousands of innovative projects. Recalling Ron’s goal to remove unnecessary barriers to LibTech attendance for all, we amended our scholarship program name to the Ron Joslin Library Technology Conference Scholarship.
